| Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam |
|
|
Lord
Venkateswara of Tirupati, also known as Venkataramana Murty, is regarded
as the last incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is hard to find a household in
south India where the hymns in praise of the lord are not recited. The Tirumala
Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh attracts millions of visitors every year.
It is also one of the most well maintained and managed temples with online
reservations for visits and Poojas. The offerings and donations by the devotees
amount to several millions of Rupees every year. A well-managed temple trust
runs the "Venkateswara" hospitals, schools, colleges and a university
with that money. |
Sri
Venkateswara Suprabhatam is recited during the early hours (Brahma Muhurta)
every morning to wake up the Lord from his sleep. It is believed that Lord
Venkateswara will bestow prosperity in abundance to devotees who recite
this prarthana every morning. Its a very pleasant feeling to hear the clear
voice of M S Subhalakshmi ring through the cool morning air. |
